Teacher for the Visually Impaired-Early Intervention
(Birth to Three)

Term: 12-MONTH POSITION - FULL TIME

Department: Family Services-Early Intervention

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform functional vision assessments, learning media and other assessments as needed. Also provide direct services in natural settings (home or community settings) and other usual duties of itinerant teachers of the visually impaired.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree (preferred) or Bachelor's Degree in education of students with visual impairments. Must be able to be certified in the State of Arizona. Knowledge of Braille, vision assessment instruments and procedures, low vision, technology, the impact of various eye conditions and the impact of multi-handicapping conditions on learning.
