Celebrate with these family-friendly accessible activities

Ahh… Spring is in the air! While normally Foundation for Blind Children would be hosting a spring festival, featuring a beeping egg hunt… Never fear! We have some exciting ideas for you to do at home.

First, is our Early Intervention and Orientation and Mobility Specialist, Nakeshea Lewis. She shows how to develop early O&M skills using beeping eggs. https://www.dropbox.com/s/dj23kh80d82xcon/Parent%20Eggs%20Cropped.mp4?dl=0

Next Melanie Audet, Orientation & Mobility Specialist, shows how to find beeping eggs using your hands. https://youtu.be/UiGyaCAmgoU

Another Orientation & Mobility Specialist, Alex Fabrega, shows how to use a cane to find beeping eggs. https://youtu.be/QKOCsqBw-js

Maybe you’d like to share a spring story with your little one. Here’s FBC paraeducator, Veronica Porcaro, reading Welcome Spring. https://youtu.be/quabX5E9bvU

Do you have an Alexa at home? Or maybe just the Alexa app on your phone? There are several Easter games or “skills” that you can enable for free. Our favorite is the Easter Egg Hunt. See it in action here: https://youtu.be/CozJdH2kP88

We, here at FBC, hope these activities will bring some new ideas and fun to your family. Happy Easter!
