Our School for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Our school for the blind is one-of-a-kind. FBC has the largest Preschool for blind and visually impaired students in the country. In addition to our preschool program, we have an Elementary Education Program on our main campus serving students in grades Kindergarten through fourth grades.

We believe in every child’s potential. Our classroom teachers specialize in educating students who are blind or visually impaired, utilizing strategies and learning modalities specific to vision loss to unlock each child’s potential and open up a world of possibilities. The classroom teams consist of teachers of the visually impaired (TVIs) or Teachers in TVI programs along with well-trained paraprofessionals, physical therapists, occupational therapists’, speech and language pathologists and orientation and mobility specialists to provide the best educational opportunity for children to access their learning environment as well as the world.

Our School for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Our school for the Blind is one-of-a-kind. FBC has the largest preschool for visually impaired students in the country. We serve students at all levels of need, including students who are only visually impaired and others who have multiple physical disabilities. We teach our students how to learn using adaptive methods, so they can be ready for the transition to kindergarten. Specialized teachers, counselors, and therapists teach our students how to relate to the world, how to move in the world, and how to understand the world around them. We also have a small k-4th grade school for students who are either not quite ready to move to public school or whose local districts lack the resources to help them.

Our School Campuses

FBC’s school for the blind and visually impaired  serves students all across the valley with campuses located in the east valley, west valley, and central Phoenix. Our main campus is home to preschool and elementary classes, while the east and west valley only have preschool classrooms.
